Known as rhytidectomy, a facelift is a surgical procedure performed to reduce visible signs of aging on the face and neck. Fold lines, sagging & loose skin, excess fat etc. are corrected, prevented, and delayed with the use of a facelift procedure. This also helps restore a youthful feel to the face and reduces thinning of skin.
Bow-lift or forehead lift is performed to enhance the eyebrow lines and remove the creases between eyebrows. It reduces wrinkle lines on the forehead and also between the eyes. They make the eyebrows more beautiful and remove the sags under and over the eyes.
Ear surgery or otoplasty can help improve the shape of the ear, which may have been damaged/occurred due to an injury, birth defect, or any other reason. Otoplasty helps restore the shape, size, and position of the ear and gives an appropriate proportion to the face. Such corrective surgeries are performed mostly for medical reasons or aesthetic purposes.
Breast enhancement procedures are opted for beauty intensification and augmenting the body contours for aesthetic or medical reasons. Women worldwide mostly adopt such ‘breast jobs’ for enhancing their looks. Also known as augmentation mammoplasty, breast augmentation involves taking fat from another part of the body and placing it on the breasts for increasing the shape and size of the breasts. Another method for enhancement is to use breast implants The procedure makes the breasts fuller in volume, and more projecting, while changing the contours of the area. In some cases, this process is adopted as part of the reconstruction of the breasts, if the original breast/s were removed due to mastectomy. In certain other cases, physicians suggest breast implants depending on the body type, health, and need of the patient. These breast implants can be silicone-based or involve other materials like saline implants, gummy bear implants, or textured implants.
The procedure of fat transfer or implant placement is quite similar to buttock augmentation. General anesthesia is administered before the surgery. Depending on the process, the physician may make an incision that can be periareolar, inframammary, or axillary. The implants are placed either under the pectoral muscle or behind the breast tissue over the pectoral muscle, depending on the type of implants chosen. Once this process is complete, the incisions are sutured.
To get rid of excess fat from the body and look better without having to go through exercises and difficult diets, liposuction is a medical procedure that many rely on. Not always for beauty enhancement reasons, but sometimes for medical reasons too, some may prefer the option of liposuction, especially post-surgery or injury that may have allowed deposit of excess fat. Liposuction usually is performed on the belly, thighs, buttocks, arms, back or even the face. One must have a thorough discussion with the physician before you opt for such a procedure as it may also have certain risks associated with it. Body type, skin type, and overall health are important factors to be considered. The procedure may be ultrasound-assisted, laser-assisted or done by injection to the area where fat is to be removed.
After general anaesthesia liposuction is performed through small incisions. A cannula is inserted to suction out excess fat with a syringe attached to the end of the cannula. The incision is sutured back once the procedure is complete. The results of changing body contours will be visible soon.
Swelling can be expected after the procedure. There may be excess blood or fluid flow for which drains will be placed. For the swelling to completely go away it may take up to some months. But in time the changes expected through this procedure will be evident as the body contours will set in place.
